DVR-Remote-806 is a miniature video recorder, which within a few inches encompasses all the potential of digital recording, especially for outside applications or tor all situations where a hidden camera is important, for example for candid camera recordings.
In spite of its very small size (13*8*2.3cm) it has an internal 60Gb hard disk, capable of storing up to 60 hours of video footage. Among its possible applications are:
- Hidden surveillance camera: DVR-Remote-806 can be concealed in hidden corners for covert recordings
- Candid camera: Just keep in your pocket, start it at the right time, and you will have perfect leisure videos
- Extreme sports: perfect to be taken along during ski or bicycle rides
- Outside video shooting: Pocket recorder for shooting from your car or in open air, allows you instant viewing of footage on its TFT display.
In spite of its small size, DVR-Remote-806 provides high-end performance, by recording MPEG4 DivX videos with 3 different resolution levels: 720x480 (18 frames per second), 640x480 and 320x240 (at 30 frames per second). Movies are recorded in DVD quality and can easily be played back on your TV. Recordings are stored on an SD memory card (not supplied). SD card is normally used for digital photo cameras, can store up to 16 GB and thanks to its small size is practically indestructible.
DVR-Remote-806 is powered through a rechargeable in-built Li-Ion battery, and its charger also allows for direct power supply from the mains, thus providing unlimited recording time (or at least, limited by the maximum size of the memory card), which makes it perfect for continuous video surveillance.
In this case, the in-built battery would be working only in case of an electricity outage or blackout.
By connecting DVR-Remote-806 to an optional CA-EN camera, the video recorder will also supply power for the camera. Battery life in continuous recording mode is up to 3 hours. Two batteries are supplied upon purchase.
To achieve the best results, DVR-Remote-806 can be powered with an optional BA-EN-806 battery pack, which provides a 4-times longer recording duration (up to 12 hours), both for the recorder and for the CA-EN camera. Thanks to the battery pack you can use DVR-Remote-806 for long-lasting surveillance operations, leaving the system on during the day, retrieving and recharging it at night while also downloading the movies. BA-EN-806 battery can be recharged in approzimately 10 hours, and charge level is visible through the LEDs on the side. When expected battery life goes below 30 minutes, you can be alerted by a vibration, which would not raise unnecessary attention revealing the recorder’s position.
DVR-Remote-806 can be used in three different recording modes:
- Manual recording: Just push a button on the recorder or on the external infrared remote control
- Timer-operated recording: Recording is started automatically at the preset time. You can also set the recording end time, and DVR-Remote-806 will automatically switch off.
- Automatic start sensor: Recording starts automatically when the infrared sensor detects a movement or an image modification within its operating range.
DVR-Remote-806 series recorders are equipped with a 3.5” TFT display, to view in real time the images that are being recorded, or to play them back later. Your video recorder can be connected to any PC via the USB cable, and no software installation is required, as DVR-Remote-806 will be seen as an external hard drive, from which you can play back your movies with any media player, or download them for later viewing or editing.
AVI DivX format also allows to save memory space, and it is also very easy to use, as this format is supported by all media players and editing software. Furthermore, through the AV port you can connect your miniature video recorder to a monitor or a TV set.
To start your video recorder discreetly and comfortably, DVR-Remote-806 is supplied with two remote controls, one infrared and one with cable. The cable is approximately 1 meter long and, for example, can be placed in the pocket of your trousers and start the recorder placed in the front pocket of your jacket, by simply pushing the start/stop or on/off button.

Through its adaptor cable, DVR-Remote-806 can be connected to other cameras, both miniature and standard, and its 12 VDC power output can provide power for cameras up to 250 mA.
