Full Description

Recording audio from a GSM listening device

GSM-I-KEY combines a USB modem with dedicated recording software. It receives audio from a compatible GSM listening device and saves it on the connected computer. The USB unit serves as the interface at the monitoring station; it is not a standalone room recorder.

The system was also intended for use with compatible SpyPhone-type handsets. Compatibility in an existing installation depends on the connected device, software and GSM service.

Automatic capture for later review

Recording starts automatically when the GSM call is answered. The software can save the session without an operator listening in real time, making the audio available for subsequent review.

The system records audio supplied by the associated GSM device. Entering a phone number alone does not provide access to an arbitrary phone’s conversations.

Agency use and product status

GSM-I-KEY was intended exclusively for law enforcement and government agencies conducting authorized investigations. It is discontinued; this page retains its technical information for existing installations.
