VHF/UHF FM transmission and multiband reception
KEN-F7 integrates a dual-band VHF/UHF FM transmitter and a wideband receiver covering 100 kHz to 1.3 GHz. Receive modes include FM, wideband FM, narrowband FM, AM, SSB and CW for compatible broadcasts, amateur radio traffic and utility signals.
Simultaneous reception supports two frequencies, including operation within the same band. RF output is 5 W, with power supplied by a 7.4 V, 1,550 mAh lithium battery. The radio measures 58 × 88 × 29 mm.
Display, controls and external interfaces
The LCD offers adjustable contrast and a double-size information display in single-band mode. Menu settings include an adjustable squelch threshold and memory shift. A keypad and control lock, transmit timeout timer, automatic power-off and battery status indicator support portable operation.
Automatic Simplex Checker monitors the repeater input frequency to assess whether direct communication is possible. A dedicated connection supports an external TNC for 1,200/9,600 bps packet operation. Built-in VOX is available with an optional microphone headset.
