Miniature microphone for ambient audio recording
MC-400 integrates a prefiltered Knowles capsule and preamplifier in a compact module measuring 6 × 18 × 4 mm. It is designed for permanent or semipermanent audio installations where a larger microphone would be difficult to accommodate.
The 20 Hz–10 kHz frequency response supports speech and ambient sound capture. Onboard amplification brings the signal to line level for transfer to the recording device.
Placement within the installation
The small body allows flexible placement, with a wired connection separating the pickup point from the recorder. Mounting should leave an unobstructed acoustic path to the capsule.
Position the microphone with the intended sound source and surrounding noise in mind. Speech level, room acoustics and placement determine the usable recording quality.
RCA line-level output for recorders and DVRs
A female RCA connector provides the analog line-level output. MC-400 can add audio to a video surveillance installation or feed a standalone audio recorder equipped with a suitable input.
The receiving device must accept the microphone’s output level. Matching the input requirements is part of integration; an RCA connector alone does not establish electrical compatibility.
Power and system integration
The listed supply options are 5 V DC and 12 V DC. Select the supply specified for the unit being installed, together with the appropriate audio connection.
