Full description

Focused pickup for remote listening

KMR-358 pairs an ultra-cardioid electret condenser microphone with a dedicated preamplifier. The phantom-powered capsule is intended for directional pickup of speech and other sounds, allowing the operator to aim toward the source of interest.

The kit is specified for listening at distances up to 30 m (approximately 98 ft). Usable range depends on source level, background noise and recording conditions. Positioning and accurate aiming are important when capturing quieter or more distant sounds.

Wind protection and vibration control

The wind protection helps reduce wind-related interference during outdoor use. The microphone also incorporates a mechanism to reduce the effects of mechanical vibration on the audio signal.

Its 100 Hz–16 kHz operating range covers speech and environmental sound. These features support field listening where the microphone may need to be repositioned as the sound source changes.

Set the preamp level for your recording chain

The dedicated preamp provides a gain slider adjustable from +6 to +50 dB. This gives the operator control over amplification when setting up the microphone and connected recording equipment.

Balanced and unbalanced analog outputs support recording to an optional external device. Input levels and connections should be matched to the recorder as part of the system setup.

12 V operation for field use

The kit operates on 12 V DC and can be configured with optional battery power for mobile use. Applications include discreet conversation monitoring and wildlife observation, where audio needs to be captured without approaching the source.

Recording options in the range include the DIGICELL recorder and other compact audio recorders. Our team can review the connections and input requirements for the intended configuration.
