UHF stethoscope audio transmitter for glass and windows

UHF-STE picks up sound-induced vibrations from glass and windows and transmits the audio in real time to a compatible UHF receiver. The compact contact microphone uses crystal-controlled WFM transmission. Monitoring through walls or ceilings requires an optional component available on request.

  • UHF transmission within 416.5–423.5 MHz.
  • 5–7 mW output power and 200–6000 Hz audio bandwidth.
  • Replaceable 3 V CR2450 battery in a slide-out holder.
  • Up to 50 hours under ideal conditions. Actual runtime varies with use.
  • 30 × 18 mm metal housing with a 160 mm flexible antenna.

Contact audio monitoring over a UHF radio link

Glass and window pickup

The contact transducer picks up surface vibrations. An optional component extends the application to walls and ceilings.

Crystal-controlled WFM

The transmitter sends live audio to a compatible receiver using wideband FM and crystal frequency stabilization.

Replaceable battery

Inserting the 3 V CR2450 battery activates the unit. The slide-out battery holder allows straightforward replacement.

Full description

Contact pickup with wireless audio transmission

UHF-STE combines a high-sensitivity contact transducer and an analog UHF transmitter in a compact metal housing. The sensor detects sound-induced vibrations at the surface and sends the audio in real time using WFM modulation.

The standard application is monitoring through glass and windows. Walls and ceilings require a separate optional component, available on request. Pickup quality depends on the surface and contact between the transducer and the material.

Receiver selection and battery operation

The crystal-controlled transmitter operates within 416.5–423.5 MHz with 5–7 mW output power. Monitoring requires a receiver matched to its operating frequency and WFM modulation. Recommended equipment includes the IC-ERRE receiver and DIGICELL recorder for recording from the receiving setup.

A 3 V CR2450 battery fits into the slide-out holder and activates the transmitter. Runtime is up to 50 hours under ideal conditions and varies with use. The package includes the radio stethoscope and battery. UHF-STE is also part of the analog audio transmitter range.

Applications

Glass and window monitoring

For authorized audio monitoring through glass, the contact transducer picks up surface vibrations and relays the signal to a separate receiver.

Monitoring from a separate position

The UHF link carries audio without a cable between the contact microphone and receiver. Usable distance depends on obstacles, the environment and the receiving equipment.

Wall and ceiling applications

The optional component adapts the system for contact monitoring through walls and ceilings. Select the accessory for the intended surface before specifying the setup.
