Long range parabolic microphone
The handheld parabolic microphone consists of highly reflective parabolic dish, reverse mount microphone active omnidirectional capsule, preamplifier and headphone for listening in real time.
The sound waves, picked up by the parabolic microphone properly oriented, hit your dish and are conveyed into the fire where the microphone is located. In this way, the audio signals received are increased compared to the results that you would with a normal directional microphone. In fact, this element is not only amplifies the sound, but "select" signals eliminating unwanted noise coming from different directions. The parabolic dish brought from the island so the sound waves perpendicular to the director of achieving professional results.
The dish is made of semi-rigid, black plastic, resistant to water and UV rays. Therefore it represents an indispensable tool, built to last over time. The reflective surface can be disassembled into different sections, allowing for more comfortable portability.
The microphone and the preamplifier work on batteries (which can be inserted directly into the handle) so that they can be used in mobility and in complete autonomy without the use of batteries or other external components. The BLACK EAR kit is equipped with a headphone output that can also be connected when necessary to an external audio recorder* (optional).
The microphone is fixed to a handle that integrates a three-band equalizer on its body for immediate adjustment of the audio captured, with the possibility of quickly eliminating frequencies that can disturb listening, such as low-frequency noise. The device as a whole is very stable and allows easy and comfortable use in any type of environment.
The microphone capsule is also provided with a sponge cover (removable) which allows to avoid any background noise or wind. It is also possible to equip the microphone with a tripod for monitoring on a fixed base, by means of the direct screw connection on the end of the handle. The sound received by the parabolic microphone is very clear thanks to the high sound quality amplification and the precise device directionality. Some tests conducted by our experts show clear audio reception even up to 50 m (distance depending on environmental conditions).
This demonstrates that this parabolic microphone can be effectively used in surveillance, law enforcement, personal safety, research, hunting, open field observations, outdoor adventures, wiretapping, monitoring of suspicious people, animal observations and much more.
An important strength of BLACK EAR is certainly its portability. The dish, for example, can be disassembled and broken down into six units in the shape of a triangle that take up very little space (very practical for carrying in a suitcase); equally useful and interesting is the built-in "hearing protection" system supplied, which starts automatically by deactivating the audio in the headphones as soon as a loud noise exceeding 90db is perceived, such as the horn of a car or a loud noise in the immediate vicinity of the microphone.
